Katie Gavin is a Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and musician. She rose to prominence as the lead vocalist of the indie-pop band MUNA, which was formed in 2013. MUNA’s music is known for its catchy hooks, powerful lyrics, and vibrant energy. With her distinct style and unique voice, Katie Gavin has become a fan favorite and one of the most promising young talents in the music industry.  Katie Gavin’s music career began when she formed the band MUNA with her friends Josette Maskin and Naomi McPherson. Their debut EP, The Loudspeaker EP, was released in 2016 and received critical acclaim. They signed with RCA Records in 2017 and released their debut album, About U, which was well-received and led to numerous tours across the country.  Since MUNA’s success, Katie Gavin has ventured into solo work. She has released several singles, including “Remember” and “Peaks and Valleys,” which have garnered positive reviews. She has also worked with other artists, such as Bleachers, on collaborative projects.  Katie Gavin’s signature sound, which is a blend of pop, electronic, and alternative music, has made her a distinct and exciting presence in the music industry. Her fans appreciate her honesty and vulnerability in her lyrics, as well as her dynamic live performances.

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
