The director and screenwriter Giuseppe Ferlito was born in Padua on September 3, 1975. After earning a degree in Political Science from the University of Padua, he moved to Milan, where he completed a master’s degree in Film and Television Production. He began working as a freelance professional for various film production companies in Milan, specializing in commercials and music videos. Later, he moved to Rome and started working in cinema as an assistant director. He launched his career in Italian cinema, primarily working at Cinecittà, before collaborating with international production companies. In 2010, after ten years of experience, he made his debut as a screenwriter, co-writing the script for 88 with actor and director Jordi Mollà. The film, directed by Mollà, was produced by Media Films, with Ferlito also serving as the second unit director. In 2012, he made his directorial debut with the drama *Presto farà giorno*, which he wrote, and which was co-produced by Rai Cinema and Settima Entertainment. The film, entirely shot in Rome, addresses challenging social issues such as drug addiction and anorexia, telling the story of three individuals striving to assert their identities despite their vulnerabilities and insecurities. Presto farà giorno won the “Special Mention” award at the Ariano International Film Festival in 2014. In 2014, he co-wrote the screenplay for Duelo with actor and director Jordi Mollà. In 2015, in conjunction with the 72nd Venice International Film Festival, he received the "Glass Lion award" award in the category "Venetian Excellence in Cinema" for innovative direction. In 2018, he was the second unit director for the film Red Land, produced by Rai Cinema and Venice Film. In 2021, he directed the documentary The Private Lives of Jordi Mollà & Domingo Zapata.

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
