Holly Dowell

Holly Dowell is a stunt performer affiliated with the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), based in Atlanta and Chicago. She has been recognized for her work with nominations for the SAG Awards Stunt Ensemble category for her contributions to "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" (2024) and "Loki" Season 1 (2021).  Dowell's filmography includes stunt performances in major productions such as "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" (2022), where she was credited as a stunt performer, and "Thor: Love and Thunder" (2022), where she served as a stunt double. In addition to her stunt work, she has appeared on-screen in roles like a Fight Club Member in "Chick Fight" (2020) and as a Blonde Actress in "Jackpot!" (2024).  On television, Dowell's credits encompass a range of series. She performed stunts in "Hawkeye" (2021), serving as an additional stunt double for Hailee Steinfeld across five episodes. Her other TV work includes stunt performances in "Loki" (2021), "Cobra Kai" (2021), "Dynasty" (2021), "Black Lightning" (2021), "Utopia" (2020), "Stargirl" (2020), "Chicago Fire" (2019), "Chicago P.D." (2019), and "Instinct" (2019).  Dowell's skill set is extensive, encompassing fighting techniques suitable for film, including kickboxing and jujitsu. She is trained in performing full-body and partial fire burns, high falls up to 25 feet, wire work, stair falls, and mini-trampoline stunts. Her special skills also include ice skating, ice hockey, powerlifting, and track and field, and she holds a private pilot license.  Her contributions to the stunt industry are further highlighted by her involvement with LBP Stunts Chicago, where she has been part of the stunt and fight teams for various film and television projects.

About the Movie Section

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).

Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
