A work in constant progress (and occasional regress).
Dave Caplan is the Chairman and CEO of C2 Motion Picture Group, where he leads the development, financing, production, and global sales of all C2 projects. Under his leadership, the company has produced several high-profile independent films, including the breakout horror hit Longlegs, which grossed over $100 million and became the most successful independent horror film in over 16 years. Caplan also produced The Monkey, directed by Oz Perkins and starring Theo James (releasing via Neon in February 2025); In The Grey, directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Henry Cavill (releasing via Lionsgate in January 2025); Goodrich, starring Michael Keaton and Mila Kunis (releasing via Ketchup Entertainment in October 2024); and Azrael, starring Samara Weaving (releasing via IFC/Shudder in September 2024). He led C2’s $100 million multi-picture co-financing deal with Paramount Pictures, which supported major studio releases such as Babylon, Mission: Impossible—Dead Reckoning Part One, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Caplan is also an executive producer on Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Sony’s 65, starring Adam Driver, and The End We Start From, starring Jodie Comer. Before founding C2, Caplan spent 16 years as a television producer and showrunner. He was also CEO and executive producer of Trooper Entertainment, overseeing daily operations and expanding the company into a full-service international production business. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
