The brutal killing of his mum when he was a year old, changed Daniel Wing’s life forever. Over 30 years later, her murder remains unsolved and Tina Wing is all but forgotten. Now Daniel is determined to discover the truth about the tragedy that shaped his past. Who murdered his mum? As Daniel finds out more about the vibrant and happy woman Tina was, tragedies in her past are revealed - and the repercussions of her death on the family become clear. Daniel learns more about the sequence of events that led to Tina’s death. As he gets to know her better, his thoughts turn to his father - who was tried and acquitted of Tina's murder. Who did kill Tina? Daniel explores what his mother’s story can reveal about an epidemic of violence against women and asks why his mum never got justice. While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
