Lu Nanyi, the daughter of a wealthy merchant, and Lin Qingqiu, from a distinguished family, grew up as childhood sweethearts. However, Lin Qingqiu was betrothed to another due to his parents' arrangement, though he still loved Lu Nanyi. They planned to elope on his wedding day but were tricked into believing the other had abandoned them, leading to their heartbreaking separation. A year later, Lin Qingqiu became the magistrate of Jinzhou County, seeking Lu Nanyi, while she gained fame as a storywriter. A murder case in Liu Zhou mirrored Lu Nanyi's stories, putting her under suspicion. As Lin Qingqiu investigated, the former lovers reunited, rekindling their old flame amidst the tension of avenging their past heartbreaks. However, the quest for the real killer complicates their reunion and raises the question: can their fractured relationship truly heal?
