Deborah Reed (née Deborah Claire Hansen) was an actress, model, author and educator. She is most well known for her role as Creedence Leonore Gielgud in the 1990 cult classic fantasy horror film Troll 2.  Born on October 29th, 1950, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Reed dabbled in drama during her high school years and appeared in the unreleased film Educated Heart with Anthony Geary and Anne Archer. After her family migrated to Spokane, Washington in 1970, she began performing in musical theater, as well as directing and writing for the stage. In 1980, she was picked up by the McCarty Agency and spent the next few decades as a print model, makeup artist and actor in various advertisements. For 15 years, she also taught classes for children aspiring to break into the entertainment industry. In 1989, she was cast in Claudio Fragasso's Troll 2, which would become her defining acting role. From 1997 to 2000, she was Executive Assistant to U.S. Congressman Merrill Cook, where she headed the Bicentennial Local Legacies project for Utah's Native American community and co-hosted Cook's radio show, creating commercial spots for the program. In the mid-2000s, she married radio personality Randy Holman and the couple formed a production company, On Fire Productions, and hosted the television series It's All About Homes, until Holman's death from cancer in 2012. In her later years, she became an author of children's books, as well as an advocate for shelter animals and eco-friendly living. She ran the blog Deba Do Tell and the Facebook page Go Green with the Troll 2 Queen, and would regularly interact with her fans. In 2017, Reed was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, which later evolved into Richter's Syndrome. She died on November 18th, 2023, due to complications of cancer. Deborah was the mother of artist/animator Gavin Reed and software engineer Remington Reed, founders of Hey Bud Games.

About the Movie Section

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).

Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

  • If you would like your profile removed from this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's gone from their site, it should soon be gone from this site.
  • If you would like to correct movie data on this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's corrected on their site, it should soon be corrected on this site.
  • For additional corrections and profile removals, please e-mail The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
