A work in constant progress (and occasional regress).
Alias:
Rémy Escoffier
Rémi Escoffier (sometimes spelled Rémy Escoffier) is a French mountaineer, mountain guide, and stuntman from a family where a passion for the mountains is naturally passed down. He is the brother of Éric Escoffier, with whom he shared a solid athletic background, notably in gymnastics. This physical foundation, combined with intensive climbing training, allowed them to quickly reach the highest levels of excellence, with Rémi being particularly at ease on mixed terrain, which distinguished him from his brother, who was more adept at rock climbing. In the early 1980s, Rémi distinguished himself with remarkable ascents. In April 1983, he soloed the North Couloir des Drus in eight hours, a feat that demonstrated his determination and endurance. Beyond his climbs on routes as prestigious as the Pilier Bonatti, Rémi Escoffier stands out for his in-depth work worthy of high-level athletes, considering climbing as a sport in its own right, with its own training methods and demands for progression and performance. In addition to his mountain exploits, Rémy Escoffier also works as a stuntman in the film industry, where his mastery of alpine techniques has proven invaluable in the creation of spectacular scenes. His physical dedication, inherited from solid athletic training and intensive training, has earned him a reputation as a key professional in the world of extreme sports and action cinema. Alongside his mountaineering activities, Rémi is also involved in the organization and promotion of mountain sports. He plays an important role in the creation and development of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc, which has become one of his passions. His involvement in the Groupe de Haute Montagne (GHM), which he also chairs, has allowed him to shape the French high-level alpine scene, providing young talents with ideal training conditions to achieve their feats. He and Guy Chaumereuil launched the Piolet d'Or award in 1991, annually honoring excellence in alpine achievement. Rémi Escoffier is also known for organizing numerous Himalayan expeditions, bringing French mountaineering to the international stage. Through his achievements and commitment, he has greatly contributed to the reputation of mountaineering and extreme sports in France.

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
