A work in constant progress (and occasional regress).
Alias:
OMEGA X
Birthplace:
Yeoju-si, South Korea
Born:
November 7, 1997
Kim Tae Dong is a South Korean singer, dancer, actor, former member of GIDONGDAE and current member of OMEGA X. He graduated from Gyeonggi Tourism High School and later attended the Practical Dance program at Myongji University but dropped out. Before debuting, he used to be a trainee at MAJOR9 (formerly known as The Vibe Entertainment) but decided to leave the agency due to mistreatment. He joined 2Y Entertainment in early 2018 and was set to debut as part of GIDONGDAE in mid-2020. In June 2020, they released a pre-debut single titled "Party Like This" but the COVID-19 pandemic and the financial issues of the agency, ended up disbanding the group in January 2021 without having officially debuted. After switching agencies, he debuted in July 2021 as a member of OMEGA X with their first single album, "Vamos". However, in October 2022, a video of the CEO of OMEGA X's label (Spire Entertainment) abusing him and his group members came to light. The members filed a lawsuit against their company to cancel their exclusive contracts and to file for the trademark of their group name. In January 2023, OMEGA X won the lawsuit and officially ended their contract with the agency. This was finally made official on May 8, 2023. The group is has been represented by IPQ since July 2023.
Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
