Samantha Grant is an associate producer with a background in television, film, and entertainment production. She serves as a Manager of Production & Development at Marvel Studios, a position she has held since February 2022. Before her time at Marvel, she built a strong foundation at DreamWorks Animation, where she spent over two and a half years progressing through roles including Current Series Administrative Assistant, Coordinator, and finally Manager.  Before entering the world of studio management, Samantha gained extensive hands-on production experience. She worked for several years as a freelance production assistant on major live events such as the Kids' Choice Awards, ESPYS, Critics' Choice Awards, and Teen Choice Awards. She also contributed to a variety of short-term projects, including theĀ Hocus PocusĀ 25th Anniversary Bash in Hollywood. In addition to her freelance roles, she was a Cast Member for The Walt Disney Company from 2016 to 2020.  Samantha also has a strong background in talent management, having spent over two years as an assistant to manager Bonnie Liedtke at both Artists First and Authentic Talent and Literary Management.  Her early career included internships at several respected companies, such as Bunim/Murray Productions, Joanne Horowitz Management, and Silver Screen Pictures.  Samantha earned her bachelor's degree in Television-Radio-Film from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, graduating summa cum laude with a 3.9 GPA and a minor in Theatre-Acting from the School of Visual and Performing Arts. She also completed the Summer Conservatory Program at The A.C.T.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

  • If you would like your profile removed from this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's gone from their site, it should soon be gone from this site.

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
