Adrian Newey, born on December 26, 1958, in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, is one of the most successful and influential Formula 1 designers and engineers in the sport’s history. Known for his innovative approach and mastery of aerodynamics, Newey has been instrumental in securing multiple Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championships across several teams, including Williams, McLaren, and Red Bull Racing.  Newey began his career in IndyCar racing before moving to Formula 1 in the late 1980s with March, eventually joining Williams, where he designed championship-winning cars that led drivers like Nigel Mansell and Alain Prost to titles. At McLaren, he continued his success, contributing to championships with Mika Häkkinen. His most enduring impact came with Red Bull Racing, where his designs helped the team and Sebastian Vettel dominate from 2010 to 2013. His cars also powered Max Verstappen to world titles in 2021 and 2022.  Known for pushing the limits of engineering and aerodynamics, Newey is celebrated as a creative genius in F1 car design, with a legacy of groundbreaking innovations that have shaped modern motorsport.

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

  • If you would like your profile removed from this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's gone from their site, it should soon be gone from this site.

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
