In the heart of Olongapo City, from a tender age, Joice manifested a deep-seated connection to the performing arts, a journey tenderly nurtured in the nurturing halls of Columban College Inc.  Joice Espinoza's journey in the world of Showbiz, behind the budding star is the guidance under her mentor and talent manager John Rey Malto, who motivated her to join It's Showtime - Tawag Ng Tanghalan, of ABS -CBN where she became the Daily winner of the Season 7 in the year 2023, and this year 2024 she also a contestant in TiktoClock - Tanghalan Ng Kampeon, of GMA Network, John Rey Malto plays an important role in the career of Joice Espinoza in the Showbiz Industry.  Joice's initial foray into the spotlight was not a deliberate pursuit of fame but a joyous exploration of her innate talents.  She graced various stages, her vibrant spirit engaging audiences as she fearlessly competed in singing competitions and beauty pageants.  Throughout her journey, the stage transformed from a place of competition to a sanctuary where she forged intimate connections with her audiences, offering a vibrant display of joy and artistic expression.  At the cornerstone of her budding career remains her supportive family unit, with her mother playing a pivotal role as both a discoverer and nurturer of Joice's gift.  Her parents' mantra of time management became a vital tool, allowing her to sail smoothly through the demanding world of showbiz, guided by resilience and an eagerness to grow.  As Joice embraced the path of a singer, she recognized the therapeutic potency residing in music, envisioning her artistry as a conduit to foster unity, empathy, and healing.  Moreover, she embraced the challenge of acting, showcasing a keen readiness to venture into uncharted territories and bring characters to life with an authentic touch. Yet, singing remained her beacon, the art form that facilitated the deepest connections with others, enabling her to share not only her talents but her soul's harmony.  Behind the scenes, amid the frenetic pace of her emerging career, Joice found her sanctuary in the company of keyboard piano and guitar. Through playful interactions with these instruments, she nurtured her creativity, shaping her musical narratives while finding solace in her own private oasis of melody and rhythm.  Despite her meteoric rise, Joice experienced trials, notably feeling adrift during the pandemic. Yet, adversity fostered resilience, teaching her the value of self-belief, fortitude, and the transformative power of viewing criticism as a catalyst for growth.  In the face of obstacles, her spirit remained unyielding, as she ardently held onto her dreams, encouraging others to do the same.  Remarkably, the journey does not end with her conquests in the entertainment sphere.  An affection for animals harbored in her heart whispers of a future in veterinary science, a parallel aspiration that underscores her multi-faceted nature, as she dedicates herself to the pursuit of academic excellence in the STEM field.  - IMDb Mini Biography By: John Rey Malto

About the Movie Section

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).

Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

  • If you would like your profile removed from this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's gone from their site, it should soon be gone from this site.
  • If you would like to correct movie data on this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's corrected on their site, it should soon be corrected on this site.
  • For additional corrections and profile removals, please e-mail The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
