Mia Hjelte is a Swedish actress and dancer and she was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. From the age of 10 Mia attended the Royal Swedish Ballet School. After graduating and a spending a season as an apprentice with the Vienna State Ballet, Mia joined the Royal Swedish Ballet, where she was appointed soloist. Mia started acting when she got cast as Penny Jonson in the musical theatre production of Dirty Dancing at the China Theatre in Stockholm. She received her primary acting education at Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts and Stella Adler Acting Studio in New York. Just after graduating SADA Mia got her first film role, the lead role Wilma in the Norwegian feature film For Evig and Aldri, directed by Gunnbjörg Gunnarsdottir.

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
