Usha Navaratna Ram ( November 23 , 1939 - October 01 , 2000 ) is one of the popular Kannada storytellers. Popular Kannada writer Usha was born on 23 November 1939 in Bangalore. Her mother was Shantamma; father was M.V. Subbarao. Usha Navaratnaram was a teacher by profession and served as a teacher for about 3 decades. She was also a novelist, short story writer and columnist. She hosted several programs for children on All India Radio. Usha was married to renowned writer Navaratna Ram on 3 February 1969.
