A work in constant progress (and occasional regress).
Lucy has a Degree in Digital Film Production from the University of Suffolk and a UAL Art Foundation Diploma, for which she practiced documentary filmmaking, earning her a Distinction and a Commendation in the Design Museum Student Awards. Her work often includes themes such as lived experiences, LGBTQIA+ rights and activism, empowerment, intersectional identities, queerness, neurodivergence and mental health. She has produced two documentary films about her transition; a feature film, Pronouns in Bio (2022) and a short film, A Tight, Warm Hug (2024). Both works have been screened at film festivals throughout the UK and United States, including at Norwich University of the Arts for Norwich Queer Fest, at TRANSlations Transgender Film Festival in Seattle and at Out on Film in Atlanta. A Tight, Warm Hug was featured in Queer Youth Art Collective's group show, ‘Dream This Silly’ at Queer Circle in London from October to December 2024 and was screened in October 2024 as part of Dreamy Place’s Night Watch Queer Film Trail in Brighton. Lucy is a keen activist for transgender rights; she has written for Metro’s ‘Pride and Joy’ column and Mermaids Gender for Transgender Awareness Week. Lucy has also been featured in Mermaids ‘#MyPrideFamily’ documentary featuring a range of trans and non-binary young people talking about their lived experiences. Lucy also appears in the Trans Matters Worldwide documentary ‘Dear Wes… Part 1: The Pledge’, which directly addresses UK Health Secretary Wes Streeting, who has allowed puberty blockers to be banned for use by trans young people through the NHS.

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
