Carlos Cruz , also known as pseudonym Charlie Blue began working in cinema at a very early stage in his life. At only age 14 he initiated at Topfilme studios (animation studio) were he worked for 4 years with animator directors Ricardo Neto and Artur Correia. In 1979 Charlie Blue forms a little animation studio, that not only worked on animation but also postproduction and special effects for cinema, back then still in 35mm film. He became notorious in the cinematographic world working with many directors and producers namely: Cinequanon, Nova Imagem, Costa do Castelo, BlowUp, Panorâmica 35 among others. A CHARLIE BLUE FILM L ike every artist, never satisfied with the work produced, he turned towards finding other solutions so he began to travel abroad, finding out about new technologies and always looking for new and better results. H e then forms “Imagina” a publicity film producer. In “Imagina” Charlie Blue begins to direct advertisements for television in animation and imagem real, both in film and digital format. He directed many movies namely: “AXA seguros”, “Yoogy”, “Cimpor”, “Tulicreme”, “Estrelitas”, “Tampinhas”, “Bollycao”, “Uzo”, “Bubaloo”, among others. H aving also won Award Winning with the film “Castle Water” at the Cinanima animation festival. I n 1999 a more ambitious project led way for a partnership. He formed his first industrial animation studio “MagicToons” were he worked with over 40 visual artists, creating a mark in the history of Portuguese animation. At this point the first step had been taken for the beginning of the animation industry in Portugal, opening doors for other initiatives such as the Belgian studio Neurones. H owever the “MagicToons” project came to an end eventually, not due to lack of motivation but because of the crises that inevitably affected the animation industries around the whole world. This led sponsors to stop investing in the projects. U nsatisfied with such designations Charlie Blue keeps firm and does not quit. At this moment even with the present national and worldwide crises, Charlie Blue is still motivated to gather ideas for the future of children’s animation and films, thus being very committed to taking forward a combination of actions be it in formation or production for television and home video.

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
