Silvana Alarcón Sánchez is a Peruvian film writer, director, editor and producer based in Lima, Peru. Filmmaker, teacher and researcher of non-fiction cinema and film audiences. She studied Audiovisual Communication at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. She served as author and principal investigator of the project 'Mutaciones del espectador en el Perú: hacia la creación de un perfil del consumidor peruano de estrenos nacionales 2019-2021', winner of the National Competition for Research Projects on Cinematography and Audiovisual 2020 of the DAFO (Peru's Ministry of Culture). His recent documentary short film and autobiographical exploration, 'Vientre Vacío (Empty Womb)', was winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the Peruvian Film Competition of the University of Lima's Semana del Cine. During 2022, his short films 'La Última Pieza: Ensayo I' and 'Vientre Vacío' have been part of the competitive sections of the XIII Festival Internacional Al Este de Lima. In this space, 'La Última Pieza: Ensayo I' won a special mention from the jury. Likewise, his first documentary piece 'Razón de Ver: Correspondencia I' has been selected for its Latin American premiere at the 2nd Festival Itinerante de Cine Latinoamericano Atemporal. She is currently in the development stage of her first feature documentary 'Razón de Ver', a family portrait that talks about emotional inheritance, motherhood and the biodescodification of diseases linked to previous traumas in women.

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
