Kouno Yougo was born December 18, 1962 in Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, Japan. He is a music composer and arranger for anime songs and animation. Currently freelance. He made his debut as musician in the band MAKE-UP in 1984, where he took charge of the keyboard and arranging songs. The band dissolved already again in 1986, whereafter he joined for a year the band うるさくてゴメンネBAND in 1987. During the MAKE-UP years he also worked with rock singer Hamada Mari and participated in the making of her Misty Lady album as keyboarder. From 1988 until 1992 he was member of GRAND-PRIX before being involved in studio work as arranger and compositor. He is best known for arrangement and composition of powerful and hot-blooded rock songs, which most often accompany mecha animation. He also tends to work together with the anison rock band JAM Project, for which he arranged and composed many songs.
