Quinn Brett is an adventurer and record-holding athlete. Based in Estes Park, Colorado for fifteen years, she pushes her mind and body to the limits. She has many accomplishments in Yosemite, Zion and Rocky Mountain National Park, a competitive triathlete, and yoga instructor. When she wasn't galvanizing around the world trying to achieve personal goals, Quinn worked professionally during the summer months as a climbing ranger in Rocky Mountain National Park. She was the only woman and 1 in 5 to hold this coveted position. To complement the rescue and medicine component of this job, Quinn taught wilderness medicine courses with Remote Medical International during the winter months. In October 2017, Quinn fell over 30 meters while climbing El Capitan in Yosemite National Park and required technical rescue over 300 meters above sea level. Quinn suffered a spinal cord injury, currently paralyzed from the waist down. Very active by nature, she maintains a healthy and active lifestyle while pursuing her core passions. Quinn Brett runs Dovetail Mountain Adventures, based in Estes Park. Dovetail offers yoga and rock climbing workshops and retreats, weaving together the teachings of yoga and physical strength to help successfully manage our daily lives. In 2021 paraplegic, she traveled 4400 km in the mountains on a recumbent bike, which took her across the United States from North to South to claim the right of the disabled to access all outdoor sports competitions. In 2022, the film "An accidental life" is dedicated to her life.
Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
