Murat Ergün was born on May 15, 1984 in Erzincan. In 1996, he started acting in two musical plays. In 2000, he started his academic theater education with a scholarship from Bakırköylü Artists Association. On October 6, 2001, he founded the Sanat Yolcuları (Art Travelers) theater group. He directed plays in many institutions and organizations. He first play Sokak ve Ölüm (Street and Death) he wrote and directed on October 06, 2001. Murat Ergün received very good critics from the world of art and theater with this play. Then he wrote and played his own tragedy Bir Delinin Rüyası (original name Beni Bulan Var mı?), which took the subject of the loneliness of the metropole people. Last but not least, Murat Ergün, catched the attention of theater lovers with his play Kiralık Oda (Room for Rent), which he turned into a one-man play, although the plot needs a full cast of actors. The play staged many time in the season of 2003/2004 and was welcomed by many people. Saying that he wants to create innovation in cinema, Murat Ergün reflected his different style to the cinema after the theater with his first cinama film Kiralık Oda (Room for Rent). In 2007 he played the role of Nezir Seyran in the TV series Pars: Narkoterör. In 2009 Murat Ergün played in the cinema movie Uzak Ihtimal, which won a lot of awards. Between 2009 and 2011 he played two season with 78 episodes the role of Gabriel in TV series Ask Bir Hayal. In 2016 Murat Ergün played in the TV series Back Streets the role of Maruf in 7 episodes. Now he is shooting his new cinema screenplay Kacma (Don't run), which he wrote between 2017 and 2018. Currently he is preparing to be on stage with two different plays next year 2025 / 2026.
