A work in constant progress (and occasional regress).
James Burleson was born as a military brat in Kokomo, Indiana while his father was stationed at Grissom AFB, IN. James got the opportunity to move around in approximation every four years to places such as England, Missouri, Texas, and Louisiana. He knew from the moment he was a child at around 5 years old he was destined to be a Screen Actor. In 2003, James made the decision to enlist in the USAF, and he ended up spending four years on Active Duty and another four years in the AF Reserves. His USAF specialty skills were Ground Radio Communications, Nondestructive Inspection, Instructor-Led Training, Corporate Training Management, Instructional Designing, Curriculum Development and Technical Writing. Those specialties and more allowed James to work on many types of aircraft to include the F-16, F-15, C-17, C-5 and the KC-135. During James' military service, he won Airman of the Year at Altus AFB, and he received the honor of Senior Airman Below The Zone. He also received the Competent Communicator Award from Toastmasters International. James received his Bachelor's Degree with a major in Education in August, 2007 from Wayland Baptist University. He was able to finish his degree within 4 years while working full time in the military for 4 years. James completed his Master of Arts (M.A.) Degree in Multimedia Communications from the Academy of Art University in December 2014. James decided not to reenlist in the USAF in 2011 in order to fully concentrate and focus on his Film Acting career. James now takes advantage of the acting opportunities that make a difference in the eyes of the viewers no matter what the emotion is in order to uniquely connect with any given audience. He has taken numerous acting workshops, as he studies and analyzes interpretations from numerous acting instructors and talented professionals thereby strengthening his own method in character acting. He loves Italian food, and his favorite color is blue. He can now be seen in Feature, Independent and Short Films.
Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
