Riko Knut Henrik Eklundh, born March 17, 1965, in Helsinki, Finland, is a Finnish actor. He became a student at Lärkan High School in Helsinki in 1984 and studied at the Theater Academy in Helsinki from 1985 to 1989. He worked at Åbo Svenska Teater between 1989 and 1994 and made his breakthrough in the title role in "Amadeus". He then worked as a freelancer for ten years, mainly at the Swedish Theater in Helsinki but also at the Little Theater, the Viirus Theater and the Espoo City Theater. In the years 2005–2011, he was employed at the Swedish Theater and again from the autumn of 2014. Of the characters Eklundh has interpreted can be mentioned, in addition to Amadeus, the main roles in Topelius, Peer Gynt, The Dancing Priest, The King's Speech and We Are Only Men and in the musicals The Little Horror Affair, La Cage aux Folles and Cabaret. In addition to stage roles, he has appeared in dozens of TV series, films and radio programs. Eklundh has also collaborated with a number of choirs, both as a conference and soloist. He regularly appears in Yle Vegas "Eftersnack" and in "Efter nio" on Yle Fem. Since 1999, he organizes the annual concert event Sommarsång in Åboland's cut-out churches with Nötö church as a base.
Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
