A work in constant progress (and occasional regress).
Peter is a veteran character actor who has mostly worked in the Theatre. His favorite stage roles include Don Quixote, Abraham Lincoln, Cyrano de Bergerac, Sherlock Holmes, and Felix Unger. He is also a playwright. His plays include Heaven on Wheels, The Living Storybook, and Mr. Lincoln's Office, for which he was nominated for a Virginia Governor's Arts Award in 2008. Peter, his wife, Christina, and their son, Ben, live just off the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. Peter and Christina own an educational theatre company, Once Upon a Blue Ridge, and have toured their original plays for young people to audiences throughout the Carolinas and Virginia. Peter's film career highlights include Thomas Jefferson in the historical documentary, Alexander Hamilton: Favorite Son by Michael Bober (2003), himself and Abe Lincoln in the short mockumentary by Mike Foley, Becoming Abe (2010), and Uncle Otto in the Stephen King short film, Uncle Otto's Truck, written and directed by Brian Johnson (2019). Peter was named Best Actor in a Stephen King short film for Uncle Otto's Truck by Anthony Northrup in his book, Stephen King Dollar Baby: the Book (2021). Peter has begun work on an original thriller feature by Brian Johnson and Toby Osbourne called Population Purge. He will play an old actor named Charlie who hides in an abandoned amusement park while survivors of an apocalypse try to capture him for his virus cleansing blood. Population Purge will be released in 2022. "I am so thankful for the opportunities I've had as an actor and look forward to the next challenge. Onward and upward!".
Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
