A work in constant progress (and occasional regress).
Janet Kumah is known for her roles in a number of popular TV shows, including her recurring role in the BAFTA nominated Sky Atlantic series ‘I Hate Suzie Too’ in which she played Clara. She has recently finished filming for Nick Love's new film 'Marching Powder', starring Danny Dyer which is out in early 2025. She had a major role playing Latisha in the 2024 Apple TV+ crime drama series ‘Criminal Record’, which starred Cush Jumbo and Peter Capaldi. She also appeared in series 4 of the Martin Freeman parenting black comedy series ‘Breeders’ on Sky One in late 2023. She had a number of other major roles in 2023 including playing Keme in the latest series of fantasy drama ‘Shadow and Bone’ on Netflix; playing recurring character Susan Scarsdale in the Paramount+ series ‘Chemistry of Death’; and guest starring as DS Donna Chainey in series 26 of the BBC’s Silent Witness, leading the investigation into a train crash caused by environmental activists. In 2021 and 2023 she played Dr Leslie Morris in series 2 & 3 of Sky Original political thriller drama ‘COBRA’. Other major TV credits include playing Aunty Joy in Idris Elba’s Sky comedy series ‘In The Long Run’ as well as appearances in ‘Enterprice’ (BBC), ‘Dark Heart’ (ITV) and ‘London Kills’ (Acorn TV). Janet has a neutral accent with hints of London which she can neutralise as required. Her parents are from Ghana so she also has an excellent Ghanaian accent.
Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
