Screenwriter, director and lecturer. His short film "LOVE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT" (2022), was screened in 50 international film festivals and won 15 awards, and  "GIRL WITH A FORK IN A WORLD OF SOUP" (2019), won BEST SHORT FILM at the 35th Jerusalem Film Festival and screened at more than 30 international film festivals.  In 2025, he debuted his first feature film as a screenwriter in the documentary-animated film "KAFKA'S LAST TRIAL" and wrote the script of "NOW MORE THAN EVER", produced by comedian Amy Schumer (currently in production).  His latest short, "ART IS PLAY (THIS IS A FILM ABOUT HANOCH PIVEN)" was produced in 2025 and will be out at the end of the year.  He also won two writing grants for his feature films "EXPORT" and "DON'T FORGET FLORA", both currently in development.  In 2023, he directed "INVISIBLE ALBUM", a five-episode musical web series. His short film "DROP" (2015) was screened in over 60 film festivals and won 10 awards. His first international co-production, "BAMBINA" (2016), won various awards in over 40 film festivals and was filmed at the TERRE DI CINEMA workshop in Sicily. Won writing grants and filmmaking residencies in Europe and the USA, and is currently working on his first feature film.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
