A work in constant progress (and occasional regress).

Madi Monroe was born as Madison Monroe Williams on January 27, 2004 in Los Angeles, California, USA. Known for her unapologetic way of showing her audience how to empower themselves by owning who they are, Madi Monroe is at the epicenter of all things Gen-Z and is well on her way to becoming a household name with her exploding social media empire and upcoming projects in film, television and music. Born in Los Angeles and raised in both Arizona and California, the 17-year-old has been singing, acting and dancing her whole life. With her ability to belt tunes across the school auditorium every year for her school's talent show, Madi began her social media career as a way to get her music out to the world. She then found overnight stardom on TikTok with viral dance trends she started, makeup tutorials, and humorous skits. A true entertainer and now armed with collective global audience of almost 20 million engaged fans online, Madi has been given the opportunity to pursue projects she's been training for her whole life. She is in the studio writing and recording music, and her following might not be too surprised to see her come to the table with empowering songs with the take-no-prisoners attitude they have come to know and love. A lover of all things creepy, Madi has landed the lead role in a live-action film in an adaptation of a famous YA novelist's ghoulish novel (soon to be announced). She is also set to start filming her own digital series as part of Instagram/Facebook's content funding initiative, the show will be surrounding Madi and friends at a slumber party setting. She is also the lead in two animated features coming out in the fall of 2021 and spring of 2022 on a major streaming platform (to be announced). She has also been hard at work with many brand partnerships in beauty, food, fashion and music. She made her acting debut in 2020 on Brat TV's Attaway General. This year, Madi was honored at TikTok and Logitech's Songbreaker Awards, for being one of the trendmakers on the platform.
Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
