Jean-Éric Vergne, born on April 25, 1990, in Pontoise, France, is a celebrated French racing driver known for his success in Formula E and his past experience in Formula 1. Vergne began his career in karting before advancing through the junior single-seater ranks, ultimately joining the Red Bull Junior Team. He made his F1 debut with Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2012, where he raced for three seasons before moving to focus on other racing categories.  Vergne joined Formula E in its inaugural season in 2014 and quickly established himself as one of the top drivers in electric racing. Driving for DS Techeetah, he became the first and only driver to win two Formula E World Championships consecutively, claiming titles in the 2017–2018 and 2018–2019 seasons. Known for his smooth driving style and strategic prowess, Vergne has become a prominent figure in Formula E and has contributed to the sport’s growth and popularity.  Beyond Formula E, Vergne has competed in endurance racing, including the FIA World Endurance Championship. His achievements and dedication have solidified his reputation as one of the most versatile and successful drivers in modern motorsport.

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
