A work in constant progress (and occasional regress).

Luca Silver (they/them) is an artist and filmmaker based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They have wanted to be a filmmaker since the day Star Wars played on the hospital room TV as they were being born. Before they could afford a camera, they drew adventure comic books starring their classmates. In middle school, Luca began filming spy capers and action movies in the weekends and summers while turning in a video for every class project. In high school, they helped set the curriculum for the new media program and led the team to national recognition. Luca attended Columbia College Chicago for one year before the pandemic hit, whereupon moving to Nashville, Tennessee, they took the opportunity to drop out, release the fashion musical PHANTASY (2020), and spend nine months creating The Naked Eye (2021), an erotic horror film shot on iPhone, using only objects available around the house. From there, they began work in the film industry, first as an editor on the YAMAHA feature doc The Sound Of Us (2021) and then on to short films, music videos, commercials, live events, and features, in every department, behind and in front of the camera. Since then, Luca has starred in director Ryan Rox's queer coming-of-age hit Hidden Flora (2024) and spent two years creating What Is Sex (2024), a multimedia sex-ed comedy about a world where humans have corkscrew penises and corkscrew vaginas, made with fifteen collaborators across three countries. They moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to join the growing film scene, and joined Dust Wave Film Collective, a group of independent artists and creative folks making a new wave. Luca Silver intends to become the best artist they can be, push the medium forward, develop the language of cinema, and create a sustainable arts organization.

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
