Joe Bacus is a filmmaker based in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. He directed and produced the short film " Happy Fiesta" which had its international premiere at the 28th ExGround Film Festival in Wiesbaden, Germany in 2015. His films have been screened and won in national film festivals, and in international film festivals including Landshuter Kurzfilm festival (Deadline Award) in Munich, Cellulart Film Festival in Jena Germany, Guanajuato International Film Festival in Mexico, and FACINE in San Francisco, California, USA. His debut full-length feature film "Markado: The Moon Devourer" also premiered at QCinema International Film Festival (2018) and International premiere at Fukuoka International Film Festival アジアフォーカス・福岡国際映画祭 , Japan (2019). He is also a fellow of the first FLY FILM LAB an ASEAN ROK program at Busan Asian Film School, Busan South Korea, and Southern Voices Lab a project of Film Development Council of the Philippines, developing his script entitled "Devils in Paradise" for his second feature film. Aside from making films, he runs the annual Cine de Oro Film Festival in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines.
