Jaa Jarunun Phantachat is an award-winning actor, playwright, director and producer and co-artistic director of B-Floor Theatre, a physical theatre group based in Bangkok. A graduate of Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Mass Communication, her physical theatre training includes modern dance, Laban Effort Qualities, Butoh and Viewpoints. She has performed in numerous B-Floor productions and toured internationally.  In 2014, Jaa received the prestigious Silpathorn Award for outstanding merit in theatre from Thailand's Ministry of Contemporary Art and Culture and was an Asian Cultural Council Fellow. In 2015, she received the award for Best Direction from the Thai Section of the International Association of Theatre Critics (IATC – Thailand) for “Test of Endurance.” The shows she produced in 2016 (“Fundamental”) and 2018 (“Something Missing”) won Best Ensemble Performance, Best Art Direction, and Best Movement Based Performance from IATC – Thailand.  In 2016 she received the award for Best Actress in the film "Ferris Wheel" from the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia international competition and Thai Short Film & Video Festival.  Beyond her work with B-Floor, Jarunun is a freelance writer, a voice-over director for the online game “Blizzard's Hearthstone” Thailand, and is a co-founder of Collective Thai Scripts, a group that curates the translation and publication of contemporary Thai scripts.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
