Otwin Biernat was born in Graz, Austria. He is related to Arnold Schwarzenegger. In 2009, Otwin moved to Berlin and in 2011, “Codewort Mr. Bean” which he co-directed was selected for the Berlin International Film Festival.  Seeking international experience, Otwin moved to the Middle East in late 2011, where he worked for television. However, the call of filmography was too strong, and in 2014, Otwin made his way back to Europe. He then co-produced the movie “Homesick” which had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2015.  Capping off his experience in film over the years, Otwin completed his first feature film “Point of View” in 2017.  In this movie Otwin fuses film, satire with unconventional experimental storylines and cinematic techniques, creating a holistic art form that captivates and surprises viewers through engaging points of views. Within the first 80 minutes the fim has not cut. It won several awards all around the globe.  Beside his work as a director and videographer Biernat collaborates with other associations, he organises film festivals like the Pompei Street Festival, the Neapolis Persia film festival and the Casoria Film Festival which was a big success. They were all funded by the Campania film commission.  He has been a jury member of many film festivals (Antakya International FIlm Festival, Pompei Street Art Festival, Kinoduel International Film Festival etc...) and he is the jury president of FotoFilm International Film Festival in Istanbul.  Otwin is the founder of the production company otWINfilm (www.otwinfilm.com), the Co - CEO of C4C & Service Solution Cinema Art Fashion.  At the moment Biernat works on a film project with the actress and singer Kristina Böhm the daughter of Karlheinz Böhm also known from the "Sissi" films, and with the famous German singer G.G. Anderson.  In 2024, his second feature film DeadEnd ( AusWeg) was selected at over 50 festivals f.e. at the Girona Film Festival, Seattle Film Festival, Belgrade International Film Festival etc.

About the Movie Section

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).

Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

  • If you would like your profile removed from this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's gone from their site, it should soon be gone from this site.
  • If you would like to correct movie data on this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's corrected on their site, it should soon be corrected on this site.
  • For additional corrections and profile removals, please e-mail The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
