A work in constant progress (and occasional regress).
Birthplace:
Barcelona, Spain
Jared Grange -- currently residing in Los Angeles, CA -- was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain. Coming from parents of different origins, he grew up in a multicultural environment. He had his first acting experience at the age of 9 at a summer school. At 15, he took his first theatrical acting job, performing in "The Children of Herakles" by Peter Sellers, in one of the most prominent theaters in Barcelona: the Teatre Lliure de Montjuïc. Challenging himself by performing in English for the first time, he received critical acclaim for his performance. After finishing high school, he decided to focus on his acting career and started studying the dramatic arts. He portrayed the title character in Shakespeare's "Othello" as well as Monk in Tennessee Williams' "Small Craft Warnings." He also played leading roles in the short films "Plague" and "Chauvinism." Additi onally, Jared has worked as a dancer in many operas, such as Giuseppe Verdi's "Aida" and Richard Wagner's "Tannhaüser," in the most prestigious theater in Barcelona, El Gran Teatre Del Liceu. he has also lived in London and New York. Moreover, he has worked as a model in several campaigns for Nike, Adidas, Puma, Reebok, Karstadt and Asics as well as runways for Roberto Cavalli, Macy's, Calvin Klein and Desigual, among others. Jared had leading roles in national commercials for AT&T, Honda, Vodafone, Corelle and Samsung. He was the lead in the 30-minute short film "Least Among Brethren" that won an Award of Merit at the Canada Shorts Film Festival of 2015. He gave remarkable performances portraying Aaron in the film "Shadowkill" and Marcus in "Lost Romance," with the multi-award-winning director Kenneth Mader; those two films also comprised Jared's debut as a producer, with a new concept of a prod uction company, SunLand Films, born with the objective of bringing diverse talent into the film industry. The company made its debut with the documentary film "Project Rwanda" (released in 2015). Jared has also recently opened SunLand Designs, a real estate company specializing in home renovations.
Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
