Swedish born producer / director / actor, has been working in the entertainment business for 40+ years.  He spent 10 years of that time working in Hollywood, Los Angeles & New York, mostly in front of the camera as an actor and model. He has been producing TV programs, documentaries and events in London, New Delhi, Abu Dhabi, Baghdad, Middle East, Belgrade, Santos, Gothenburg and Stockholm. Mr. Magg is the founder and president of TMTV-TRADEMARK TV, a production company producing TV programs and content concepts for the entertainment industry, specializing in international TV formats and feature documentaries.  Mr. Magg is also the founder and CEO of TM Trademark Media AB a Swedish Film & TV rights and distribution company. TM specializes in human rights and current affair documentaries, as well as charitable fundraising TV concepts worldwide. Mr. Magg co-created and produced a fundraising Interactive TV format “Bridges of Hope”, a TV program for UNICEF and Nelson Mandela’s “Global Movement for Children”. The show has been successfully broadcast in the Pan Arab market, during the month of Ramadan, by Abu Dhabi Channel & Emirates Satellite Channel. He has also produced …i Hetluften (Hotspots in Sweden), 24 episodes “docutainment” travel-program. A team of explorers visiting all the regions in Sweden, traveling in a Hot-Air balloon, made for SVT (Swedish Television Network). Another high rated TV-program-series, in the docutainment genre, was “Can we borrow a cup of sugar?”. The program host traveled in Europe and knocked on ordinary people’s doors, comparing manners and customs, in all the new neighbor countries of Sweden. Produced when the Swedes joined the European Union -96 (SVT).  2008 he co-created the “GreenLife Project”, for IIMSAM – (Permanent Observer to the United Nations Economic and Social Council). The project was aimed to help the malnourished children in Fallujah, Iraq. The project in Iraq was a success and is now implemented to help the children in need in Kenya, Africa.  In the past 15 years he has directed, produced, and co-produced 38 documentaries and new ones are constantly in progress. All of them have premiered on SVT (Swedish National Broadcast Channel). Mr. Magg has a large network of international contacts in Film, Television and Telecom market. His favorite expression is “the only problem I know about is NO PROBLEM”.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
