Edward Nathan George Jr. (born September 24, 1973) is an American football coach and former player who is the current head football coach at Tennessee State University. He played as a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons, primarily for the Houston / Tennessee Oilers / Titans franchise. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2011 as a player, and the International Sports Hall of Fame in 2020.  He played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes and won the Heisman Trophy in 1995. He was drafted in the first round of the 1996 NFL draft, and played professionally for the Tennessee Titans (both in Tennessee and in Houston when the franchise was known as the Houston Oilers) and Dallas Cowboys.  Post-football, he earned an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. In 2016, he appeared on Broadway in the musical Chicago as the hustling lawyer Billy Flynn.  His jersey was retired by the Titans during a halftime ceremony against the Indianapolis Colts on September 15, 2019.  He also owns a restaurant in Columbus called Eddie George Bar and Grille 27.  In 2004, he married American singer, rapper, actress, and author Tamara 'Taj' Johnson.  ​From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
