Sirat Boumediène, known as Diden, (Arabic: سيراط بومدين), is an Algerian actor born September 26, 1947 in Oran and died August 20, 1995 in Mostaganem. Born and raised in Oran in the Saint Antoine district, before devoting himself to comedy, he was a seizure agent. He joined the theater at the end of the 1960s. It was Ould Abderrahmane Kaki who discovered his talent at a young age. He appeared on stage with the artist Boualem Hadjouti in plays (Litham, Li Kla Ikhalles, El Balaout) and also with Abdelkader Alloula (El Algue, El Khobza, Hammam Rabbi, Litham, Ledjouad, Toufah and El Meïda). In 1990, Sirat Boumédiene joined the May 1 cooperative, created by Abdelkader Alloula. Two years later, in 1992, he joined his friends from the independent troupe El Kalaâ, made up of actors Mkio Sakina (Sonia), Mohamed Ben Guettaf, Ziani Cherif Ayad and Azzedine Medjoubi. Sirat Boumedienne has participated in television, on the Oran antenna such as the show Ayche Bel Hef, by Mohamed Houidek, or television series like Chaïb Lekhdim by director Zakaria Kaddour Brahim. These two series deal with social ills in the form of comedies. Sirat Boumedienne's career was not limited only to theater and television, he also played roles in cinematographic films such as the film entitled Sous les Cendres by Adelkrim Baba Aïssa or the film Hassan Niya by Ghaouti Bendeddouche. Sirat Boumedienne has taken part in various professional theater festivals, organized in Algeria and abroad. In 1986 he won the prize for best performance at the Carthage International Festival in Tunisia against the Egyptian Abdullah Gaith. He was honored on January 3, 1995 during the first Maghreb Theater Festival, organized in Oran. he also campaigned to promote the seventh art, by creating the Triangle Vert in the company of Mohamed Bekthi, the space created was also called the Café du Théâtre. Sirat Boumédienne died on August 20, 1995, at the age of 47, following a long illness while participating in a theater festival in Mostaganem.
Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
