Shanjhey Kumar Perumal is a Malaysian director and writer with over 10 years of experience in creative industry. After earning a Communication Degree in Film and Broadcasting from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), he went on to write and direct more than 300 episodes that featured on Malaysian television. Over the years, he has been involved in a diverse array of media ranging from documentaries and short films to musicals and children’s programmes. He first came to prominence in 2006 when his short film, ‘Thaipoosam’, was screened at the 36th International Film Festival Rotterdam in the Netherlands. In 2009, his short film ‘Machai’ was awarded the Grand Prize at the BMW Shorties Malaysia. His short film ‘Jagat’ went on to win Best Cinematography at the International Toronto Tamil Film Festival in 2011. The following year, he was invited to be a jury member at the BMW Shorties Malaysia. In 2013, his documentary, ‘The Day That River Ran Red’, won the Jury Award at The KOMAS Freedom Film Festival Southeast Asia, Kuala Lumpur 2013.  In 2011, Shanjhey Kumar Perumal founded Skyzen (M) Sdn. Bhd, with the aim of producing high quality Films (Fictional, Documentary and Experimental) the Silver Screen. Jagat is his first feature.

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
