Juliana Vicente de Freitas, also known as Juliana Vicente, is a Brazilian director and filmmaker. She is the founder of Preta Portê Filmes, a company founded in 2009 in São Paulo with the aim of developing audiovisual projects that combine art and communication for a diverse market. The filmmaker aims to make content of social and artistic relevance, creating new Afro-indigenous and LGBTQIA+ narratives. In 2015, she was invited as a director to participate in the Berlinale Talents and received the Camera D’Or award with the co-production A Terra e a Sombra, at the Cannes Festival. In the same year she was nominated for the Claudia Award in the Culture category, for her contribution to Brazilian cinema. He directed the Netflix series Afronta! and a year later he directed the 13th season of the series Espelho, by Lázaro Ramos. Later he also directed the documentary Cidade Correria – Um Bando de Artistas (2020) and Viva Nossa Voz. His other works are: Colors and Boots, a short film; the documentaries Leva and Mauá: Luz ao Redor and the music video Marighella, by Racionais MCs.  He also produced, making more than 40 films including shorts, medium-length films and feature films. In 2022, the director competed at the Rio Festival with her documentary Diálogos com Ruth de Souza and is preparing to release the documentary Racionais MC's - Das Ruas de São Paulo pro Mundo. Juliana was part of the Berlinale Talents group (2015), at the Berlin International Film Festival, the same year she was awarded the co-production A Terra e a Sombra, at the Cannes Festival. He directed the video Marighella, by Racionais MCs, best Video of the Year at VMB (MTV, 2012). He directed the 13th season of the series "Espelho", by Lázaro Ramos, (Canal Brasil, 2018). In 2020, at the invitation of Instagram, he was the general director of the pro-diversity campaign for the platform with the documentary "Viva Nossa Voz", produced by Preta Portê Filmes. In 2022, he will release two feature films: the documentary Diálogos com Ruth de Souza, which will be shown at the Rio Festival and the São Paulo International Film Festival, and the documentary "Racionais: Das Ruas de São Paulo pro o Mundo", which will also be shown by Mostra de São Paulo before debuting on Netflix.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
