A work in constant progress (and occasional regress).
Alias:
Ashley Godick
Ashley was Born in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Before she graduated high school she was offered jobs doing Graduation Makeup, Theatre Makeup and Stage Makeup. Acting in a local theatre (Majestic Theatricals), while also being involved in dance (Faye Gleeson Dance Centre) gave her a better understanding of the different types of makeup to use. She continued her passion by enrolling in the aesthetics program at Confederation College. From that Ashley started working with the college film department doing short films and music videos. Ashley worked on Hip Hop Artist; Webster Death's first two music videos. "Alright Ok" 2007 and "The Script" 2008 have both won awards at the Cravefest International Video music Awards. Spending some time doing small jobs around town, she decided to further her career by attending S.O.M.A; The School of Makeup Art in Toronto, Ontario during there 6 month summer course. There Ashley was able to expand her talent and learn different techniques. Through the school, some of the shows she worked at were Miss Teen Canada 2008, The International Beauty Show hosted by NACARA, Toronto Import Fest 2008 and also volunteered for the Laura Mercier counter during the Face to Face Event at Holt Renfrew. Ashley got her first opportunity in Television when she was asked to work with "Plastic Makes Perfect" a television series on the Slice network. She was hired for special effects by applying fake tattoos on there actress. In her spare time she was also working for Unbridled Images; a bridal company owned by her Beauty Teacher, assisting with weddings. After Ashley had completed school and was building her portfolio she offered her services in photo shoots for volunteer. In October 2008 Ashley went back to Thunder Bay and worked at Lombardos Hair Design and continued doing makeup for weddings and special occasions. Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
