Allu Arjun is an Indian film actor who primarily works in Telugu cinema. After playing as a child artist in Vijetha and as a dancer in Daddy, Arjun made his adult debut in Gangotri. Allu Arjun is the nephew of the famous Telugu actor Chiranjeevi. He is also the grandson of the Telugu comedy actor Allu Ramalingaiah. His cousin Ram Charan Teja is also a young and upcoming Tollywood actor. He has two siblings - an older brother named Allu Venkatesh, and a younger brother named Allu Sirish. He now lives in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, with his family. He is a good dancer in Tollywood like his uncle. Allu Arjun's second film Arya, released in 2004, and Arjun claims it to be his first major hit. Arjun's third film Bunny was released in 2005 and his fourth film Happy, was released in 2006. The film managed to make a decent profit in the Indian movie scene in the U.S. In 2007, his fifth film, Desamuduru, directed by Puri Jagannadh, proved to be a box office hit and the first hit of the year in Tollywood. This movie grossed Rs.19 Crore and a share of Rs.15.50 Crore in the first week of its release. This opening remains his highest grossing opening so far in his career. In the same year, he also made a guest appearance in his uncle Chiranjeevi's film, Shankardada Zindabad. His sixth film Parugu was released on May 1st, 2008. Produced by successful producer Dil Raju, it was directed by Bhaskar. Sheela played the female lead in the movie and Prakash Raj played another major role. This film opened to a mixed talk but later went on to run 100 days successfully. It brought good recognition to Allu Arjun as an actor too. He entertained his audience with his dances and acting skills. He is also a well known star in Kerala. All of Allu Arjun's movies, except Gangotri, were dubbed into Malayalam. Desamudrudu was renamed to Hero and Parugu was renamed to Krishna when dubbed. This helped him gain some popularity in the state of Kerala.

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
