A work in constant progress (and occasional regress).
Ethan Smith (born April 2, 1978) is a highly experienced American film and television executive producer and unit production manager. He first entered the industry in the early 2000s, working in various roles across production and location management—including assistant and supervisory positions on titles like Maid in Manhattan (2002), Frequency (2000), and The Ballad of Jack and Rose (2005)—before advancing to producer credits in mid‑2000s films such as Sherrybaby (2006), Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2010), Sabotage (2014), and Fury (2014). By the mid‑2010s, Smith had begun taking on dual roles as unit production manager and executive producer on major studio features. His work on Joy (2015), Atomic Blonde (2017), and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019). These three titles alone grossed nearly $1 billion worldwide in the UPM category. He also served as executive producer on Borderlands (2024). In television, he is credited as a producer on series including The Nine (2006), Everwood (2002–2006), CSI: NY (2004–2013), and Without a Trace (2002–2009). He served as a unit production manager and produced the MCU Disney+ series Ironheart (2025), as well as executive produced Now You See Me 3 (2025). Smith has accumulated over $960 million in worldwide box office revenue through his unit production manager roles and over $1 billion as an executive producer, placing him among the top 100 technical professionals in those categories.

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
