Overview from Open Movies

Trying to find a way to overcome his financial difficulties and to support their future family, the desperate young man, Spiros, is forced to abandon his beloved fiancée, Maria, to seek a better job abroad. However, as the weeks turn into months, which turn into years, a sinister conspiracy behind Spiros' back will drive Maria into the arms of another man, preventing him from knowing the existence of his unknown son, Yanakis. Eventually, things will turn from bad to worse, when Yanakis runs away from home after a startling revelation. Will the father reunite with his only son?

  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).
