Abbas live with his wife in a mountain village cut-off from the world and deserted by the population. One day, in the woods, Abbas discovers a child who hides her mother affected by a strange disease.
In the city of Taipei, Abbas, a middle aged man is relentlessly looking for a young French girl who disappeared years ago. His Taiwanese partner, Lian tries her best to bring him out of the state of drowsiness that guides his wandering. But he carries within him the obsessive memory of tragic events. Seven years earlier, he and Clara lived together in a mountain village cut from the world and deserted by its population. The couple survives in the constant threat of a devastating virus. People becoming infected with the disease are suffering from disturbing behavior. On her part, Clara bears her isolation even less since Abbas appears particularly cold and distant with her. One day, in he woods, Abbas discovers a child who hides her mother affected by the disease.
