In a feudal household ruled by the stern Ranima, a poor governess, Indira (Devika Rani), finds herself entangled in a web of love and deceit. Both the kind-hearted family doctor Ajit (Ashok Kumar) and the manipulative estate manager Ramnath (Girish) vie for her affection. When Ranima dies suddenly, Ramnath frames Ajit for her murder. What follows is a dramatic courtroom showdown that reveals the truth and restores justice — allowing love to triumph.
