According to the Sami belief, little people live underground - they are mischievous, fussy, but kind. One of the little men ends up on earth and remains to live with an old man and an old woman. They accept him, despite his mischief, involuntary sabotage and restlessness. Realizing that he has found a real family, the boy tries to protect those who have become dear to him from robbers.
