Anne Harding looks after her small fruit and vegetable farm, her teenage daughter Jamie and her mother Molly, who suffers from arthritis. Then one day John Smith, her Aunt Sally's butler, turns up on her doorstep. The widow wants to lend John to her sister Molly for six weeks.
