During the Ming Dynasty, the emperor suddenly became seriously ill and fell into a coma. The court was leaderless, causing chaos. At this time, Hei Ni, the king of the Black Teeth Kingdom, came to visit. The 18th prince Long'er hosted a banquet to entertain the guests. During the banquet, Hei Ni boasted that the country's national power was boundless and it had four unparalleled masters: the God of War, the God of Poetry, the God of Cookery, and the God of Chess. Long'er secretly laughed because these four were exactly the strengths of the Han people, so the two sides immediately decided to compete, but the cunning and despicable Hei Ni had already bribed the four masters of the Ming Dynasty. Only then did Long Er realize that he had fallen into his trap. In desperation, Long'er signed an agreement with Hei Ni: Three months later, the two countries will have a competition; if the Ming Dynasty loses, it will cede territory and pay compensation to the Black Teeth Kingdom.

  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).
