Birthplace:
Tacoma - Washington - USA

Born:
February 2, 1965

Bill Jacobson grew up in the small Northwest city of Tacoma. He first started acting at the age of 10 doing school theater on a regular basis. His acting teachers always looked to Bill to help carry the performances and felt he had something special that could lead him to discover his talents even more. As he grew to a man he kept up with his acting but slowed down to pursue his interest in athletics. He played high school football where he developed into a promising player. Upon graduating high school he attended Washington State University, where he majored in Journalism and minored in Psychology. His parent didn't have a lot of money and so he was accepted on the work study program and between that and a lot of loans managed to get through almost five years of school. While in school he discovered rugby and fell in love with the game. He also re-discovered his passion for acting and started focusing more on Theatre. He graduated College and started working in the corporate world in the sales arena. He seemed to have a skill in relationship building with his clients and became quite successful. In 1994 Bill had an opportunity to be transfered to Los Angeles with a large company as a territory sales manager. He didn't hesitate, packed his bags and moved down to beautiful Southern California. The next couple of years he focused on the job that brought him there but started feeling anxious about his true passion, acting. He was so close to it, surrounded by it that it started to consume him. He started taking more and more acting classes, putting together head shots, his resume, and started slowly seeking an agent. By 1998 he quit his corporate job, burnt his power ties and started acting. Within the first year of freedom, He joined The Screen Actors Guild, got an agent and landed his first film. Since then Bill has done countless indie films, National commercials, and has co-starred and guest-starred on countless TV shows. He is married and proud father of two very young but spirited rug rats named Jacqueline and Liam. His goal in his career is to inspire his audiences and bring them to that magical place that good projects can do

The Search Form

About the Movie Section

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).

Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

  • If you would like your profile removed from this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's gone from their site, it should soon be gone from this site.
  • If you would like to correct movie data on this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's corrected on their site, it should soon be corrected on this site.
  • For additional corrections and profile removals, please e-mail The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
