Jeugd: Geboren (1975) en opgegroeid in Waterland. Een landelijk gebied, dat   bij de gemeente Amsterdam hoort. Ik voel me dan ook zowel Amsterdammer als   plattelandsjongen. Als kind altijd buiten spelen, door de weilanden struinen,   maar ook veel muziek maken. Eerst dwarsfluit, daarna piano. Daar kwam abrupt een   einde aan toen ik naar het Montessori Lyceum in de "grote stad" ging. Ik was het   kleinste jongetje van een klas vol met goed gebekte kinderen maar humor is dan   een goed wapen... Studietijd: Na het Montessori vonden mijn ouders dat ik zeer geschikt zou   zijn voor de Kleinkunst Academie. Daar dacht ík heel anders over! Zeker artiest   worden! Gadverdamme, wat een vreselijk aanstellerige mensen waren dat. Ik ben   Personeel en Arbeid gaan studeren aan de Hogeschool van Amsterdam. De school zat in de Jordaan, ik woonde in de Jordaan en ik werkte als   barkeeper in de Jordaan. Totaal anders dan waar ik ben opgegroeid maar het had   ook iets dorps, wat ik heel prettig vond. Ik studeerde af in 1998.  Begin   carrière: Tijdens mijn afstudeerjaar gaf ik mij op voor de Gongshow in Comedy   café Toomler. Waarom ik daar ooit aan mee heb gedaan…Maar ik won ik de finale!   Ik heb toen besloten om helemaal voor het cabaret te gaan. Het jaar daarop won   ik op het Amsterdams Kleinkunstfestival de jury- en de publieksprijs en het   tweede jaar toerde ik door Nederland met mijn eerste cabaretprogramma   Extreem. De rest is bekend..of ergens te vinden op deze site. Heden: Ik woon tegenwoordig weer in Amsterdam-Noord in een oud dijkhuisje op   1 van de oude dijkjes een beetje terug naar mijn 'Wortels' (titel 4de   cabaretprogramma). Ben getrouwd en heb 2 dochters.. Ik ben op het moment van   schrijven bezig met de reprise van 'Schwalbe' en heb een mooi jaar achter de rug   met veel optredens zowel in t theater als op tv.. Benieuwd wat t komend jaar   gaat brengen.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

  • If you would like your profile removed from this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's gone from their site, it should soon be gone from this site.

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
