A work in constant progress (and occasional regress).
Birthplace:
Crown Point, Indiana, USA
Born:

Blake Zolfo - a singer, dancer, actor - was born in Crown Point, Indiana, about an hour south-east of the Windy City. He was born the third of three children to Mike and Mickey Zolfo. His older brother's name is Nick and his oldest sister's name is Breanne. Blake is also the proud owner of two cats - "Pennington" and "Mister Fluffington" - as well as a yellow lab, "Jazmyn". His love of singing started in second grade when he entered himself in Timothy Ball Elementary's talent show. And though he began studying piano in fourth grade and voice in sixth grade, it was not until eighth grade that he performed in his first musical. Since then, he has been involved in over 20 productions in under 6 years. He enjoys virtually all aspects of the theatre, ranging from acting to choreographing to lighting design to graphic design. During his freshman year of high school, Blake discovered his love of tap studying under Donna Brum Dancers' Julie Newman. At Donna Brum, he took hip-hop, jazz, and tap - he was the most drawn to tap. His passion grew as he continued to study in private lessons with Julie. Now Blake studies Tap (as well as Ballet, Jazz, and Modern) at Lou Conte Dance Studio in Chicago. His other studies include taking classes with Acting Studio Chicago's Kurt Naebig (among others), as well as classical voice and musical theatre with Trish Hales. When Blake is not onstage or in classes, he loves working as a Middle School Mentor at Joseph L. Block Middle School teaching and playing games with the drama club there. Blake teaches Tap at two middle schools in the East Chicago School System. In his free time, he works as a freelance choreographer in Northwest Indiana as well as teaching tap privately. In his real free time, Blake enjoys skiing and reading plays and novels. Blake's graphic design experience includes designing website layouts, t-shirts, post cards, brochures, and posters for all types of businesses and independent persons.

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
