Mateus de Oliveira Gomes Silva, better known by his stage name Metturo, is a Brazilian-Mexican actor, singer, composer and influencer. He gained national recognition after acting in SBT soap operas such as "Corações Feridos" from 2010, but only released in 2012, and "Carrossel" from 2012-2013, which guaranteed him national popularity. The choice of the stage name was inspired by the dream of studying meteors, where the actor, as a child with diction problems, pronounced meturo instead of meteor, and thus adding another T, he became known as Metturo. Born in the municipality of Garanhuns in a humble community, he began his career at the age of 9 singing in the choir of the Seventh-day Adventist church in Garanhuns, Pernambuco. A year later he began his career in theater, where he performed for the first time at the Luiz Solto Dourado theater, also in Garanhuns. During her teenage years, Metturo studied Spanish and worked as a model and blogger on Facebook, and at age 17 she formed an independent theater company and studied acting at a performing arts school in Recife. Subsequently, he began to invest in his artistic career, having gained prominence as the largest male influencer born in Garanhuns. In 2017, Metturo managed to appear in the film "Internet: The Movie" playing the character of Matteo, in 2019 he played Tony Priest in the futuristic feature film "Divino Amor", a film that was recorded in Recife - Pernambuco. And in 2021 he was part of the main cast of the feature film "Doce Encanto" by Cássio Pereira dos Santos. Even in 2021 he launched himself as a musician, investing in songs in Spanish and Portuguese, and in genres such as urban Latin, pop, reggaeton, dembow and funk, where he little by little consolidated his career in music as one of the main actors of La versatile pop scene of Pernambuco. Between 2022 and 2023 Metturo carried out a series of works and collaborations with national and international artists, including Thomaz Costa, Anitta, Vinicius Henuns and Alffon Ortiz, Mexican DJ and music producer. And from 2022 to 2023 he became Garanhuns' biggest male influencer alongside Luana Targino. In 2023 he was considered to enter the reality show A Fazenda 15, where for unknown reasons his participation was canceled and in the same year he made the selection for Big Brother Brazil where he competed for entry.

About the Movie Section

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).

Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

  • If you would like your profile removed from this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's gone from their site, it should soon be gone from this site.
  • If you would like to correct movie data on this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's corrected on their site, it should soon be corrected on this site.
  • For additional corrections and profile removals, please e-mail The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
